FAQ: For some reason, we've received a lot of e-mail asking for world diving record statistics. This website is geared toward California North Coast Diving, not world records. But, to satisfy the curious, here are the latest statistics I've been able to find, based on the 1997 Guiness Book Of World Records : Deepest Breath-hold Dive:: 428 feet by Francisco "Pipin" Ferreras of Cuba, on March 10, 1996. It took 2 minutes, 11 seconds. This record may already have been broken. Deepest SCUBA Dive: 437 feet by John J. Gruener and Neal Watson of the U.S., on October 14, 1968. Longest Period Underwater: Richard Presley spent 69 days, 19 minutes in an underwater module near Key Largo in July 1992. Static Underwater (No movement in pool) Time: 7'16"10 - Andy Le Sauce (France), Dec. '94 (Breath held), Time: 59'15"76 - Didier Couve (France), Sept. '92 (Total time breath held over a 1 hour period. He breathed for 44 seconds here and there during that hour.) If you want more records, you'll have to check the library.
