It is 1805. The Captain of a British Man of War chases Napoleon's navy across the Atlantic to the islands of the French Caribbean. An Irish Missionary leaves his duties in the war torn revolutionary nation of Haiti to replenish his faith. A plantation owner and his family move from their London countryside to the English frontier colony of Dominica. They come together in a place that has no name, a place designated only by a warning: Never land. Perry Bradford-Wilson and Michael Norris' dark fantasy novel merges history, mythology, and literature in an unforgettable tale of adventure. Order your paperback copy today! Midnight in Never Land is a 306 page trade paperback published by Storyteller Press.

This site will be undergoing a big change in the next couple of months in order to efficiently promote some new books that will be out.
The Table Of Contents below will give you access to the stories that are currently available here on my main site. Enjoy them while you can, since I'll be taking most of them down to make way for the new stuff!

The paperback edition ("Tales of McKinleyville: Big Doin's At The Chinese Baptist Church," Storyteller Press in association with Page One Publishers, Inc., December 1998, 230 pages), is also available for people who prefer paper. The book has a few things the ebook version doesn't offer, including a detailed map of Huck's alternate/fictional version of Humboldt County, California, and some wonderful black and white photos of the real Humboldt County, California, taken by professional photographer Brandi Easter. I highly recommend the book over the electronic version, if only for her great photos.
If you'd like to order a copy of the paperback, send $12.95 plus 94 cents tax (total $13.89) to: Storyteller Press, 5774 Sierra Springs Drive, Pollock Pines, CA 95726. Please make all checks payable to Perry Bradford Wilson. The postage and handling is on me. Or, if you want to spend more money, amazon.com sells the book (click on the amazon link in the box at the left). They also have it used from several sellers, but for new copies I'm selling the book cheaper direct, and I can autograph it for you! I really appreciate your support!
Please note that this book has nothing to do with churches or Baptists!!! This is a work of humorous fiction! The stories have been compared to the work of Garrison Keillor, Patrick McManus, and Tom Bodett (and I am honored that my name and work have been mentioned even in remote comparison with such illustrious authors!)
The sequel to Tales of McKinleyville: Big Doin's At The Chinese Baptist Church will be available soon. Titled Tales of Placerville: Bradford & Norris - Booksellers To The Savage West, it tells the stories of several generations of bookstore owners in a small Gold Rush town in California, from 1849 through to the present day.Two short bits from the book (which are not really representative of the book as a whole, but appear here because they involve characters from the Tales of McKinleyville) are posted here: "They Shoot Poets, Don't They?" and "Christmas Conversation: A Note From McKinleyville". They are just little diversions for fans of the first book.
A third piece, which is much more representative of the new book's style and general storytelling format, is also available. It is called: "The End Of The Rainbow, or, The Search For El Dorado". It tells the story of some visitors to Placerville who learn not every golden road leads to happiness. It's from somewhere in the middle of the book, but stands well as its own little short story. Please give it a read!
If you enjoy the McKinleyville stories I think you'll like this new book, although it is different. The complete collection should be available as an ebook and in print in the fall of 2010.
